Allan Denis Naymark Biography
Born August 27, 1991 in Brooklyn, New York, USA to Aleksandr and Milena Naymark, a family of Russian immigrants which had recently moved from the Soviet Union.
Aleksandr Naymark was an archeologist specializing in numismatics, previously leading several expeditions excavating the ancient city of Bukhara, Uzbekistan. He is now a professor of Art History at Hofstra University, New York, USA.
Milena Naymark was an architect working primarily on industrial buildings and public infrastructural projects. She is now a project manager at Kaiser Permanente, in their Bay Arean district in California.
As a child Denis frequently moved to different cities due to his father's work, spending significant durations of time in New York State and Indiana State (USA), Berlin (Germany), St Petersburg and Moscow (Russia), Oxford (UK), and many others.
In 2007 Denis was enrolled at Hofstra University at the age of 15, and initially majored in Biology. In 2008 he changed his major to Mathematics, and subsequently added three more majors through his undergraduate study years.
In 2011-2012 Denis took a break from academics, and enrolled in the California Conservation Corps, where he worked to preserve the natural environment in many National and State parks. During this time the majority of the work he did was planting trees (more than 10,000 trees total planted by him personally), removal of invasive species of plants, fuel reduction (thinning out thick forest to prevent wildfires), trail construction, bridge construction, hazardous waste operation and emergency rescue, park maintenance, and coordinating public events.
In 2012 Denis returned to Hofstra University, and continued his studies, eventually graduating in 2015 with a BS in Ceramic Sculpture, BA in Mathematics, BA in Mathematical Economics, BA in Chinese studies, and minors in Comparative Literature and Art History. During his time at Hofstra, Denis formed a close bond with Ceramics Sculpture legend Paul Chaleff, who taught Denis the fundamentals of large scale ceramic sculpture.
In 2016 Denis enrolled in the Ceramic Sculpture Master's Program at Jingdezhen Ceramics Institute, having chosen Zhang Si Ping as his mentor.
Denis has participated in several sculpture competitions and received the following awards:

2016 Harbin Sun Island Snow Sculpture Competition (second place) for the sculpture <<鼎晖之源>>
