“thin, light, transparent, rhythm is the main theme of Paula’s creation. Paula has a strong perception and pursuit of rhythm. The surging tension of the waves and the trajectory of the tornado have attracted Paula to explore. When she started to use the unique material of porcelain clay to create works, her unique creative language was refreshing. Paula's work presents a regular visual order without losing its elegance and agility. At first glance, works that are as thin as cicada wings exude indestructible power at the same time
Statement:
Paula Bastiaansen graduated from the Royal Dutch Academy of Art. She has been working with ceramic for 38 years. Since then, Paula is trying to create the work from the perspective from 3 dimensional, thin and transparent shapes with ceramic.
