Jingdezhen International Studio invited the guest artist of “TXC@Sunday morning-a Taste of Ceramics”, Attua Aparicio Torinos, she will present a lecture titled: "Hands on Material Research" on Wednesday, April 3rd, at Ceramic Art Avenue Flagship Store 2nd-floor lecture hall at 19:00. She will share her point that she challenge the material and use them in ways they are not supposed to be used.
Glass, plastic, cement, porcelain all of these materials has different properties, and used in different fields. However Attua use these materials make her work in harmonious vibe.
Attua Aparicio Torinos is a London based Spanish artist. She graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2011 from MA Design Products. She explores the area where design, craft and art meet.
In 2011 her and Oscar Lessing co-founded Silo studio. Silo’s work is a mix of craft and technology, which aims to find new ways of making by adopting a hands-on approach.
By keeping their developments open and sharing it in videos and workshops they seek to inspire people to question how things are made and to make more for themselves.
